Arts/digital things
- http://www.alpha-ville.co.uk/exchange/
- Looks like a really interesting programme starting in Jan 2014, pity it’s London-only but I guess that’s where all Alpha-ville stuff happens: “Alpha-ville EXCHANGE is a series of events designed to offer the London art, tech and creative communities the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, get inspired and discover new talent. The concept “EXCHANGE” underlines the notion of crossing talents and further connecting the frontiers of artistic expression with design and technology.“

- A fuller blog post is in the works on this one: Arts Council England, the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Nesta have commissioned independent research agency MTM to track the use of digital technology by arts and cultural organisations in England between 2013 and 2015. Results are now available from the first year survey of 891 arts and cultural organisations, including digital activities, barriers, enablers and impacts.

Generally interesting things

- Really interesting read from Matt Locke in the evolution of the relationship between audience and performance, and attention. From music halls through to tv, cinema and now digital platforms.

- The fact that this conference is sponsored by Wired is…brilliant, and seems to build on (or at least dovetail with) the wider moves towards open data in the health sector (e.g. http://openhealthdata.org/, Ben Goldacre et al)
